How it all started...
Penn and Heather Clark had a heart for the Finger Lakes region and a prophetic vision of a man standing in the road, asking for help. Phil and LaReta Riehl had the same heart and needed this leadership help. The Lord brought them together in an incredible partnership and though it started small, the promise of the Lord has been woven in the story of WellSpring, each step of the way.
Expanding the vision...
Since its inception, WellSpring has been a haven for hungry people, including many from conservative backgrounds. The transformative work of the Holy Spirit is undeniable in the lives of our community members. Our goal is not just to be transformed from within but to spread the story of Christ’s redemption to our town and the surrounding area.
Where we are headed...
While we don’t see ourselves becoming a mega church, we do want to grow. We think the best way to do this is to train up, equip, and release our families to start new branches of WellSpring, both here and beyond. We can see this happening in the Finger Lake region just like it has begun to happen in other States.
About our Affiliation
WellSpring is not part of a denomination, but we do affiliate with a number of other healthy churches and networks, where we can give and receive. Our primary affiliation is with Word of Grace Network, which was started back in 2001. We also relate with a couple of other groups, such as Elim Fellowship, which is close by. They have been a great resource to us through the years. You can learn more about Word of Grace by clicking the link below.
